Alex Eala Tennis News publishes facts about a professional athlete, so accuracy is the core of our work. This page explains where our information comes from, how we check it, how often we update it and what we do when we get something wrong. It applies to every page on the site, including match previews and betting guides.
Primary sources first
Every number on the site is checked against an official source before it is published. For results, rankings, win-loss records and prize money, that means official WTA data and the official websites of tournaments and Grand Slam events. For events outside the WTA Tour, such as the Asian Games or the SEA Games, we use official event results and established news organisations. Media reports are used to add context, and we prefer outlets that cite the player, the WTA or the organisers directly.
When sources disagree, for example on a date, a score or how a title is counted, we follow the official record and, where useful, explain the difference. If a claim cannot be confirmed, we leave it out. We do not publish quotes we cannot trace to a source, and we do not publish gossip about the player's private life or speculation about her health.
How results and rankings are updated
Results are added after each match, once the score is confirmed by an official source. Rankings are updated from the official WTA list, normally published on Mondays; unofficial "live" rankings are not presented as official. Numbers that change over time carry an "as of" date, so readers can see when a figure was last checked. Match times are given in Philippine time (PHT, UTC+8) and converted from the tournament's published schedule.
Corrections policy
If we make a mistake, we correct it as quickly as possible. Significant corrections, such as a wrong score, date or ranking, are made on every page where the error appeared. If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page and, if possible, include a link to an official source. We review every report.
Editorial content and advertising are separate
The site is financed by advertising and affiliate links to a betting partner. Advertising is marked "Ad" and is kept visually separate from articles. Advertisers and partners have no influence on what we write, which results we report or how we assess a match. Our match previews are analysis, not betting tips, and never promise a result.
