Washington 2026: her first WTA Tour title
The Mubadala DC Open in Washington, a WTA 500 hard-court event, gave Eala the biggest title of her career. Ranked No. 28, she beat Zheng Qinwen 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, Leylah Fernandez 6-2, 7-6(1), Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-4 and Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-2.
The final against top seed and world No. 3 Jessica Pegula began on 2 August 2026 and was suspended by rain with Pegula a set up. When play resumed on 3 August, Eala won 4-6, 6-4, 6-0, taking the last nine games. She became the first Filipino to win a WTA Tour singles title, earned US$252,000 and moved into the top 20 for the first time.

WTA 125 titles: Guadalajara 2025 and Birmingham 2026
Guadalajara 125 Open, September 2025
Ranked No. 75, Eala won five matches on hard courts in Mexico, including a 6-7(3), 7-6(3), 6-3 escape against Varvara Lepchenko in the second round. In the final on 6 September 2025 she lost the first set 1-6 to Panna Udvardy and came back to win 1-6, 7-5, 6-3. Some Philippine outlets called it her first WTA title. The WTA, however, counts WTA 125 events separately from the WTA Tour, which is why Washington 2026 is officially her first tour title.
Birmingham Open, June 2026
Top seed at the WTA 125 grass event in Birmingham, she beat Priscilla Hon, Alina Charaeva, Mananchaya Sawangkaew and Rebeka Masarova, and won the final on 7 June 2026 against Nikola Bartunkova 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. It was her first title on grass and the start of her best stretch on the surface: Berlin semifinal and Wimbledon fourth round followed within a month.
Lost finals: Eastbourne 2025 and three ITF finals
Her first WTA Tour final came at Eastbourne in June 2025. Starting in qualifying, she beat Lucia Bronzetti, Jelena Ostapenko (retired), Dayana Yastremska and Varvara Gracheva. In the final on 28 June 2025 she lost to Maya Joint 4-6, 6-1, 6-7(10), the deciding tiebreak ending 12-10. A year later she beat Joint at Wimbledon.
On the ITF circuit she lost three finals: to Marina Bassols Ribera 4-6, 5-7 at the W60 event in Madrid (June 2022), to Destanee Aiava 6-3, 4-6, 1-6 in Aldershot (August 2023), and to Oceane Dodin 1-6, 5-7 indoors at the W40 in Petange, Luxembourg (November 2023).
