Alex Eala's schedule for the rest of 2026 is built around a run of tournaments in East Asia. Her next match will be at the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open (12–18 October 2026), followed by entries in Ningbo and Tokyo, a planned stop in Hong Kong and a homecoming exhibition in Bulacan on 8 December. All dates are as of 8 October 2026, with times converted to Philippine time (PHT, UTC+8).
Alex Eala's next match: Wuhan Open, 12–18 October 2026
Eala's next match will be played in Wuhan. She is on the official WTA main-draw entry list for the Wuhan Open, so her participation is confirmed, but the draw had not been published on 8 October. That means the opponent and the day of her first match are still open; first-round matches are spread over the opening days of the event. "Confirmed" means she is on the official entry list for a tournament that is about to start, "entered" means she is on the list for a later event, and "announced" means the tournament or organiser has announced her but no official entry list confirms it yet.

Wuhan Open (WTA 1000), 12–18 October
The biggest event left on her 2026 calendar is a 56-player WTA 1000 on outdoor hard courts. It also shows how far she has come in a year: in 2025 she lost in the first round of qualifying in Wuhan to Moyuka Uchijima, while this time she enters the main draw directly on her ranking.
Ningbo Open (WTA 500), 19–25 October
Ningbo starts the day after the Wuhan final, so the two events run back to back in the same time zone. Eala is on the main-draw entry list, but entries can still withdraw – a long run in Wuhan, for example, would leave little time to recover.
Toray Pan Pacific Open, Tokyo (WTA 500), 26 October to 1 November
The third straight week of tour-level tennis takes her to Japan, again as a main-draw entrant. Tokyo is the only stop of the Asian swing that is not on Philippine time: local clocks are one hour ahead.
Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open (WTA 250), 2–8 November
The tournament announced her participation in September, but the official WTA entry list had not been published on 8 October 2026, so this stop is listed as announced rather than entered. In 2025 she reached the second round in Hong Kong, beating Katie Boulter before losing to Victoria Mboko.
Exhibition against Janice Tjen, Philippine Arena, 8 December
The season ends at home with "Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate.", an exhibition against Indonesia's Janice Tjen at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, on a temporary indoor court. Tickets are sold through TicketWorld. It is an exhibition, so it carries no ranking points; the two have met on tour before, when Tjen won their quarterfinal at the 2025 SP Open 6-4, 6-1.
Alex Eala schedule: Philippine time for every venue
Order-of-play times are always local, so fans in the Philippines need to know the offset for each venue. For the rest of 2026 the conversion is simple:
- Wuhan and Ningbo (China) and Hong Kong: UTC+8, the same as PHT. A match listed for 12:00 starts at 12:00 in Manila.
- Tokyo (Japan): UTC+9, one hour ahead. Subtract one hour: 11:00 in Tokyo is 10:00 PHT.
- Melbourne in January (Australian Eastern Daylight Time): UTC+11, three hours ahead. Subtract three hours: 11:00 in Melbourne is 08:00 PHT and 19:00 is 16:00 PHT.
- Philippine Arena exhibition: local time is Philippine time.
At WTA 1000 events play on the main courts usually starts around 11:00 to 12:00 local time. For Alex Eala's schedule today on a match day, the order of play is the only reliable source: it is published the evening before, and a match marked "followed by" can start hours later than the first match on that court.
How entry lists change the Alex Eala match schedule
Players enter tournaments weeks in advance, and the WTA publishes entry lists that show who is in the main draw on ranking, who is an alternate and who has to play qualifying. With her ranking of No. 18, Eala gets direct acceptance into WTA 1000, 500 and 250 events alike. Being on an entry list, however, is not a promise to play. Players withdraw because of injury, fatigue or a change of plan, and alternates take their place. That is why we label Ningbo and Tokyo as "entered" and only call an event "confirmed" when it is about to start.
We update her match schedule on this page whenever an entry list, a withdrawal or an announcement changes her plans.
Why Beijing and the WTA Finals are not on her schedule
The China Open in Beijing (30 September to 11 October 2026) is a mandatory WTA 1000 event, but Eala skipped it to play for the Philippines at the Asian Games. The Philippine tennis association PHILTA requested an exemption from the WTA; reports mentioned a possible US$10,000 fine and a zero-pointer in her ranking, but no ruling had been published as of 8 October 2026.
The WTA Finals (8–15 November 2026) are out of reach. Only the top eight players of the season qualify for the singles event, and Eala was No. 15 in the Race to the WTA Finals after the list of 28 September. The WTA 250 events in Osaka, Guangzhou and Chennai are not on her schedule either: she was not on their entry lists checked on 8 October. Her current position is explained on Alex Eala's WTA ranking page.
Alex Eala schedule for early 2027: Australian Open
The first Grand Slam of 2027 is set for 17–31 January in Melbourne, with qualifying and the opening week from 11 to 16 January. Her ranking will give her direct acceptance into the main draw, although the entry list has not been published yet. Melbourne will be three hours ahead of the Philippines. The Australian Open is still the one major where she is looking for a first big run: in 2026 she lost in the first round to Alycia Parks 6-0, 3-6, 2-6. Her full record is on Alex Eala at the Grand Slams.
The United Cup (1–10 January 2027 in Perth and Sydney) is unlikely: no source lists the Philippines among the 2027 teams, which are usually unveiled in November. Her full tournament history, including finals, is collected on the Alex Eala tournaments page.
